Terms of Service

National Board of Executive Function Certification, LLC (NBEFC™)

Effective Date: January 1, 2025

Welcome to the National Board of Executive Function Certification, LLC (“NBEFC™,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, courses, certification exams, continuing education programs, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By registering for, accessing, or using our Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts to use our Services. By enrolling in exam prep, certification exams, or continuing education courses, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

2. Certification and Credentialing

  • Certification Award: Certification is granted only upon successful completion of the required NBEFC™ certification exam(s) and fulfillment of all eligibility requirements. Completion of exam prep or coursework alone does not confer certification.

  • Credential Use: Upon being awarded certification, you may identify yourself using the appropriate NBEFC™ credential (e.g., NBEFC-C, NBEFC-E, NBEFC-T) in accordance with our branding and credential usage guidelines.

  • Validity and Renewal: Certifications are valid for two (2) years from the date of issuance. Renewal requires completion of a continuing education course approved by NBEFC™ and payment of the applicable renewal fee.

  • Specializations: Specializations in ADHD, Autism, and Executive Coaching are available through continuing education (CEU) courses only after certification has been awarded.

3. Exam Policies

  • Preparation Requirement: All candidates must complete the official NBEFC™ exam prep program before registering for the certification exam.

  • Exam Administration: Exams are delivered online and are timed, randomized, and secured through our testing platform. NBEFC™ reserves the right to change or improve exam procedures at any time.

  • Passing Score: A minimum score of 75% is required to pass.

  • Retakes: Candidates who do not pass may be eligible to retake the exam by paying the applicable retake fee. Retake policies are determined by NBEFC™ and may change without prior notice.

  • Integrity: Cheating, sharing exam content, or misrepresenting identity is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate disqualification, revocation of certification, and/or legal action.

4. Intellectual Property

All course materials, exams, continuing education modules, study guides, and related content are the intellectual property of NBEFC™. You may not copy, distribute, reproduce, or share them in any form without express written permission.

5. Payments and Fees

  • All fees for exam prep, certification exams, CEU courses, renewals, and related Services are due at the time of purchase unless otherwise noted.

  • Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

  • NBEFC™ reserves the right to adjust pricing at any time.

6. Conduct and Responsibilities

  • You agree to use the Services in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • You may not misuse the Services, interfere with their operation, or attempt to access them in unauthorized ways.

  • You agree not to use your credential in a misleading manner or outside the scope for which it is granted.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Services is subject to our Privacy Policy. By using our Services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described therein.

8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

  • NBEFC™ makes no guarantees that certification will lead to employment, increased compensation, or specific professional opportunities.

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, NBEFC™ disclaims liability for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from use of the Services.

  • Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Services shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

NBEFC™ reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to Services at any time if you violate these Terms, misuse the credential, or engage in conduct harmful to the reputation of NBEFC™.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict of law principles.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on our website with the effective date. Continued use of the Services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
